1 Do Not Use Splash Pages
Splash pages are often the first page you see when you go to the website. They are usually a simple page with nice graphics and text something along the lines “click here to enter” or “welcome to the website” or something similar. If you think about these pages serve no real value on your website. And with just a basic info really what you doing is giving a visitor another reason to click the “back” button, don’t do it take them straight to a front page which offers value and gives the visitors a reason to stay and browse your website. Splash pages can be used as promotional pages but should not be used as a front page of your website.
2 Do not use excessive banner advertisements
People these days learned how to ignore banners. Statistics shows that banners have the smallest click through rate. So do now waste valuable space on your website. Instead offer more content with affiliate links tucked away inside the content this will keep more visitors and also will increase your affiliate revenue.
3 Make sure your website is easy to navigate
Make sure that you provide a simple and easy to navigate menu structure so even inexperienced person is able to easily use it. Keep this in mind if your visitors will not be able to navigate your site or will get lost in a process they will leave and will not come back.
4 Make sure visitor knows where they are on your site
When people browsing your website you want to make sure they are always aware which part of the website they are browsing at the moment. Some examples you may want to consider is using an appropriate title on a page also using a navigation tree structure. By doing so you will prevent people from getting confused or lost on your website meaning they will stay and come back again.
5 Try not to use audio on your site
If someone is reading something on your website you will want to make sure that they can read it in peace without an annoying background sound. If you considering of adding audio to your website make sure the visitor can easily turn it off.
